COMMON WEALTH GAMES

COMMON WEALTH GAMES

These games have followed a huge sequential naming procedure from British Empire Games to British Empire and Commonwealth Games, then British Commonwealth Games in 1970 and then finally they got their current title COMMONWEALTH GAMES in the year 1978. The player countries are generally are members of Commonwealth of Nations. But little did the people who had named the games such did not think that 32 years after the final nomenclature one country like India would take the name too literally.
India has taken the games as the means of COMMON WEALTH fund rather than the GAMES....the people incharge have thought of the games a COMMON WEALTH GENERATING source...India’s initial bid for CWG was 0.138 billion...but the recent statement of the officials of OC has the cost jumped upto 70,000 crores ...Where did this huge sum go???? The officials say that it went for the development of the games village, the whole infrastructure....we would have bought that had the review of four committees placed the village as “NOT WORTH LIVING” and the bridge connecting the village not collapsed injuring 27 people...
The media is also not untouched by the COMMON WEALTH but here WEALTH means coverage...each day the media is flooded with new reports of the government’s recent failures.....the front page of all the newspapers everyday makes you feel sorry for your own country and angry at the government for its consistent failures....the result more copies sold, more margin and more profit ...more wealth for them
There have been a plethora of discussions over whether we should have taken up the idea of hosting the games when we have such big issues at hand, what should have been done for reviews and so on and so forth...but now we have a bigger issue at hand..few days left and then INDIA is on show...
So what do we do now??? Sit back and criticise our own country ...banish the games ...issue articles demeaning the government??? I think not ....The least we can do sitting far away in our homes, offices and colleges....spread a good word....see  d work done till now .....see d pictures issued by the government ...and then don’t criticise ...true we have had our share of problems and some of them were aggravated by the media and our little needy and greedy officials...but then an event of this scale has to have some problems ......we need to support our country ...we can play the blame game later on ....right now our country needs us...and we owe it to INDIA...
We have seen what the media has shown us ......but we being informed citizens should take any decision only after hearing both the sides of the coin...The second side??? Well the outcome...The least we can do is SPREAD POSITIVE VIBES about the work of our own countrymen...they have worked ...we need to realise and give credit to their hard work..
We are Geared up for the GAMES.....And INDIA known for its hospitality since ages....welcomes the world .....

WELCOME ALL

ACE- A Corporate Endeavour

How often have we all seen small kids washing utensils , cleaning tables at some roadside dhabas??? Seen them in one of those orphanages by the street playing with used toys , wearing torn clothes and yet they seem to be happy about themselves. We all crib about the little things we don’t have but they thank their stars for everything they get ranging from a cricket bat to a chacha choudhary or archie comic picked off the streets.....Childhood is the age when u dream and dream without any constraints...what a child becomes in the future depends on how he has lived as a child.
We all had a childhood where we had guardians to fulfil our wishes ....teachers to take care of us the first day we left home ...friends who helped us every time we got stuck on to a problem...and that has resulted in what we have become today...if today we have the knowledge and confidence to fetch any job for ourselves, buy the latest technology we require , live the way we want it is because we have a strong foundation...we have emerged as what we are because of what we got when we were kids...
If we have been so fortunate why not the others ??? Why not the kid of your maid who lives just across your house in those slums ???  Why does the kid in the dhaba have to clean dishes and not read books like you did when you were his age....we dreamt of fairy tales, of the new gizmo toy...they dream about the meal the next day, if they can ever go to school like the others....
This is the thought that led to the inception of ACE.....Formed by a group of friends who believed that education is for all ....ACE aspires “To have a nation where everybody has an equal opportunity to grow and progress.”
At ACE we strive to let the under-privileged have access to basic resources to ensure “equal opportunities” for all. At the start we have started with a drive asking people to donate the basic requirements for education : Books and computers....We try to let them have the world they deserve and not a world where they are bound by constraints of money, resources and knowledge.
